Weekend in Review-- Week 11

Managerial casualty #3... Bye Bye Bilic #comeonfeelthemoyes... and International Break #3. Le sigh.

Best game:

Manchester City 3 Arsenal 1. We really should just hand Manchester City the title (and make De Bruyne player of the year while we're at it) now shouldn't we? They somehow look better and better each week at the moment and easily dismantled Arsenal without really getting out of 2nd gear at the Etihad. What is truly impressive about this team is the number of players capable of doing damage... Aguero, De Bruyne, Silvas 1 and 2, Sane, Sterling, Jesus, Fernandinho. If one has an off game (which has rarely happened this season) there's 6 or 7 other players who are just as capable of turning the screw. The same cannot be said of many other teams in the league perhaps most interestingly their crosstown rivals Man United... Lukaku hasn't scored since the last International break, and as his goals have dried up so have Man United's good results. City have so much quality all over the park and are on course to score over 150 goals this season. On this form, who would bet against them?

Best goal:

Rajiv Van La Parra-- what a strike. I can't think of too many goals quite like this one as it wasn't a typical screamer. It curled, looped, arched, and nestled so precisely in the top corner. He hit it as you would a free kick, bending it around the defense and leaving Foster standing watching it sail past him into the net. Beautiful finish.

Player of the weekend:

Cesar Azpilicueta. If I were to make an 11 of underrated players, Azpilicueta would be my captain. Capable of playing virtually anywhere in the back line, "Dave" as he is affectionately known, is the steadiest of eddies. In addition to often being the only solid defender in an otherwise shaky Chelsea back line this season, he has also provided a number of assists and is forming a lethal partnership with Morata as shown with another splendid delivery right onto Morata's forehead for the winning goal vs. Man Utd.

Team of the weekend:

Pope

Azpilicueta Cook Dunk Duffy

De Bruyne Fabregas Hazard

 Salah Morata Mane
